Credit card fraud is becoming increasingly sophisticated, especially counterfeit cards.
You can carry out a number of quick and simple checks to help establish if the card being offered for payment is genuine or counterfeit.

The three-dimensional hologram should have depth when the card is tilted back and forth. |

If you are using an electronic terminal, ensure the account number printed on the receipt copy matches the embossed account number on the card. (Sometimes, you may find only the last four digits of the account number will be shown on the receipt) |

Ensure the signature strip has not been tampered with |

|
Check the cardholder's signature matches the receipt/voucher |

|
Check that the title and gender e.g. Mr, Miss etc. are appropriate to the presenter |
